Is a piercing an automatic disqualifier for men?
I have a single, small, silver ring pierced into my upper left ear. Most people don’t notice it. When finance (but more so consulting) firms roll around to campus, they love to play the we’re so progressive/diverse/just like you card but I can’t help but feel like there’s a bit of a conservative good ol’ boys club at the higher levels. Will this affect my job prospects? Be honest.
You have the easiest in for being a diversity candidate now. Just say you’re gay, and if they suspect you’re an imposter, point to the earring.

To be honest I’d probably just take it out when you’re doing networking/recruiting stuff. I wouldn’t take the risk. The reality is your appearance will be judged.

Take it off when interviewing to be safe and you can throw it back on literally right after you sign the offer. I got both my ears pierced in my first year and have earrings in PE too. Nobody GAF.
