Investment Consulting to Investment Management
I've been working at a mid-sized investment consulting firm since undergrad (2+ years), and I want to move to asset management. In the time since being hired I've passed all 3 CFA exams and been promoted (20% raise). I evaluate & recommend investment managers to our clients (pension funds, F&E, etc). Having spent zero time at a bank I have essentially no modeling experience. I understand the concepts having walked through numerous models with investment managers, but I've never built one myself. Will this hold me back, or is it no big deal?
