Broker at UBS
Hey All,
I am having an interview with UBS soon and the position involves working closely with brokers.
I am rather a novice, so please help out.
What does a broker at UBS do exactly? Do they act like financial advisors and render investment advices? Do they trade on behalf of clients? What kind of clients does a broker at UBS cater to?
Sorry the description cannot be more specific. But thanks in advance!
can you post the listing/description? it's really hard to gauge
That's is precisely the problem lol. My school job board deleted the job posting already, and I do not recall what division it's under, or what job description it entails.
But, in general, what do brokers at banks do? And how are they different from Financial Advisors? I am assuming it is securities broker or something related, not real estate etc.
Financial Advisor = Stockbroker, at least at UBS, Smith Barney, Merrill, etc. They started referring to themselves as FA's quite a few years ago for some reason or another. Some see stockbroker as a dirty word now, though I'm not really sure why. Hope that helps.
