Stay in buy side second line or go to sell side front office

Hi guys and girls,

I need some advice from you.

I’m currently working in a reputable large AM doing second line risk management for a year already. So not PM, not directly investing, not building models, just challenging PM’s idea and proposals and models. Now I am having less and less motivation doing my job, not only the job itself is not so exiting and challenging, but the pay is also less than those PM’s and no bonus. Everywhere in the company only PM’s get all the attention.

Now I am wondering if I should stay working in second line risk for some years and then try to get a PM position later on, or just switch now to a front office job in a big bank (got in the final interview round already and there are just more jobs in the market).

Appreciate any advice!
