How bad will this impact WLB for HF career, especially for MMHF? Seems ugly on initial appearance, but would love to hear a contrarian take. Will it just accelerate AI adoption / alerts on movements?

What type of opportunities does this create? For example, trading anomalies as a result of half the population being asleep, when news come out at 2am.

Would love to hear thoughts.

I think it may take sometime for the market to be completely 24/7, obviously except catalytic events around things (earnings/news/etc.), but the granular re-engineering of investment theses to accommodate continuous news/capital would likely priortize responsiveness and the dynamic recalibration of leveraged positions across time zones. For what it's worth I think risk mgmt would probably be a bit better off, with a lot more predictive analytics. I also think some of these funds would likely require a restructured governance model that emphasizes decentralized decision-making, allowing individual managers or "pods" to autonomously implement strategies based on localized market conditions while maintaining the overarching portfolio coherence.

On trading opportunities, you're right in that if the retail component is large you'll get more variability
