Profile Evaluation HEC, LBS, INSEAD MiF/MIM

Hi all,

I'm seeking advice whether I could get into the following schools and programmes. My goal is either HEC MiF or LBS MFA, but I am not sure if my profile is strong enough to grant me a place. I would also consider INSEAD MiM.

I'm a Bocconi finance major undergrad and I'm currently taking a gap year to work in IB in a mid-size boutique in Europe. My profile & internships:

  • 27/30 GPA (average)

  • GMAT 690

  • 2 consulting societies at uni, university branch parter at a big worldwide M&A research organization, one finance society.

For internships I did a spring week at one of the MBBs, after first year I did an audit internship at Big4, after the second year I was at a unicorn in London in their M&A team and now I have just started my IB off-cycle at a mid-size firm in continental Europe and during my next semester I'm going to do an internship at a PE in Brussels (around 6-8bn).

I know my GMAT score is not the highest but sadly I don't think I will have time to retake it because of the tough hours at the internship. Additionally, I plan to support my application with a reference from my econometrics prof (I got cum laude/highest honours).

Really appreciate any clues!

Hey there,

Based on the most helpful WSO content, your profile seems quite strong. You have a solid GPA, a good GMAT score, and impressive internships.

For HEC and LBS, they value work experience and strong GMAT scores. Your GMAT score is decent, but if you could improve it by 20 points or more, you would have a pretty good chance at LBS. However, I understand that you might not have time to retake it due to your internship.

As for INSEAD, I don't have specific information on their MiM program, but your profile seems competitive for top business schools in general.

Remember, these are just my insights based on the WSO Dataset. I would recommend reaching out to the admissions offices of these schools for more personalized advice. They can give you a better idea of your chances and what you can do to improve your application.

Good luck! You're doing great so far, keep it up!

Don't do INSEAD mim, you might as well just stay at Bocconi.

HEC MiM (is the top program), LSE MFIN etc.
