Is MSc in Financial Technology at Imperial College London worth it?
Hi guys. I would like to apply to Imperial's MSc in Financial Technology. The curriculum seems to be interesting because of corporate finance, quant, computer and data science courses. My short term goal is to gain experience in buy side (focused on tech, ai or energy) in London.
To give you a brief overview about my profile, I am a last year international finance student in a non-tier university in Milan, GPA 3.72/4.00 (I can still increase it) and no relevant finance internship (because the first two years of uni I started a project with some colleagues but it went bad and I had to do most of the exams in the last semesters) but I worked one year in a small energy/infrastracture firm before the uni and I work in the family company (small hotel management firm). I also consider doing a gap year to do some experience, learning another language and boost eventually GMAT (I have the exam at the beginning of march).
My main concern about this program relates to the career placement:
-
Can I still have chances of landing in positions mentioned above or in IB or maybe quant finance?
-
Is Imperial's brand good?
-
Do you know any alternative (but similar) course that could provide a better placement?
I am really confused. Thank you everyone in advance!
