It depends on the school, I rather interview someone with a 3.3 from Harvard than someone with a 4.0 from USC.

This is surprising to me. You come from a non-target, and have obviously done very well... and yet, you would give preference to the mediocre student from Harvard over the one who excelled at a very good (but not Ivy League) school?
I am just speaking from general experience, has nothing to do with those two particular schools. The GPA is only one factor, but based on what I've seen while the GPA may be lower on some of the resumes from the top schools, they are usually more active and have shown a more narrow interest (as evidence from their prior experiences) in the job they are applying for. My apologies if I offended anyone with that statement, it was not intentional but just giving an opinion based on what I've seen. I am not one to sugar coat things. Yes, I came from a non-target school. But I've also hired those from non-targets, so I am not saying they cannot be hired.

well a good GPA will always help, but if you have a good work experience, it may not matter as much. But for a fresher it is quite important.
We’ll definitely help with you have a good GPA but will it be the end of the world with a bad one? No. Just have to work a a little harder with networking and what not. Personally had a shitty GPA. Worked out fine for me. Just had to hit the networking much harder than others
Interviews are a human process and GPA is just a number

After you are past your entry level job, nobody except a total moron would care about your GPA or test scores.
Yeah, It is if you are not best or even if you are it matters you must always have GPA above some criteria, but if you are really good at something and you know that you can prove the world that you are best, then your GPA is just other number for you.
