Not sure what the table represents other than the fact that H/S/W are well-represented in the PE field. Top schools = top candidates seek out top jobs / most $
One interesting take-away for me was that there are more HBS grads than Wharton, Columbia, Stanford GSB, and Stern combined.
Just thinking about this more...Stanford GSB has a much smaller class size and therefore alumni base than HBS. Also, GSB has a great placement rate in PE but I think in general many of the qualified grads choose VC instead of the particular cross-section of PE that was chosen for this study.
I doubt that there are enough VC jobs to grab up all the GSB students who are interested in PE and VC.
