Same advice to anyone wanting to get a specific job - network! Get in contact with people in media corp strategy roles. Don't think of it as looking for an internship / FT role, but focus on getting to know people in the industry. Try to find people in the industry that you can ask these questions. Even if it does not turn in to something concrete now, those relationships will be valuable when trying to make the move later.

Also, if you are looking to do something else and move in to media corp strategy later, I would focus on consulting rather than corp strategy in a different industry.
