Dallas IB scene is horrendous, I have a buddy who lives there. Really strange to think that the "financial capital" of Texas is Dallas.

3. LA, Boston, Charlotte, Atlanta, Dallas, whatever who caresย

NYC is its own tier, period. SF and Houston are core hubs for specific industries (tech, energy). Chicago has a few industries but is big in industrials.ย

Everywhere else has a bank that is based there for whatever historical reason, or some rando MDs that had the clout base their teams there.ย

Yep, pretty accurate. Charlotte is clawing its way into Tier 2, we'll see what happens there.ย

Miami is a potentially Tier 3, maybe even a Tier 2 in the short term based on current trends.ย

Houston is very cyclical. You could argue they straddle 2/3 depending on market conditions given how eager banks are to hire/fire down there. Very weird.ย
