18 yrs old, one life to live

Been a member since 2016, but I was in highschool when I first joined, 2 years later I am in first year college, I live in Vancouver , Canada and taking economics and a basic banking course. My question here would be I like finance, I like understanding how money works and I have a interesting passion for understanding how the capitalistic system works. Now yes, I've heard of lots of depressed people who work ludicrous hours and still make good money. One big motivator for me is to also eventually find myself in a position of power... Climbing thr corporate ladder if you want to call it. My question is... I'm a big believer in living life to the fullest , I love girls and working out but also want to be successful with my career and want to leave a mark behind with my life. I'm very analytical but also good in social situations.. any suggestions on what an 18 year old could do to get ahead? Or if finance is the thing I should be doing if I want to enjoy my life... Retiring early with a big paycheck would be my ideal goal .. any books to read? I'm more looking for life advice here... I think school Is really important but I know in the long run personal development and hustling can yield greater results if combined with schooling. Any advice or suggestions?

First thing I reccomend is getting a Starbucks coffee mug. There are many like it, but this one is yours. It will be a reminder and symbol of power when you are slogging through massive amounts of bullshit work for the rest of your life in your various jobs.

Second thinkgI reccomend is spending a few hours a week in a cube somewhere on campus and sleep there a few days a week. Or even better, put one in your bedroom.

Your competitive advantage is that you will be used to being around a cubicle than your peers when you start. Ten hour days won't matter when the cube is your natural habitat. You wer been molded by the cube life, your colleagues have merely adopted it.

After breaking in, these two things will carry you to the endgame. Life as a managing director who has been divorced twice and pays alimony, child support, with a slight drug habit -- and still works 80 hours a week.

Good luck comrade.
