LEARNING AN INDUSTRY BEFORE FT ROLE
Hi guys,
To give some context I have quite a number of weeks free, and was considering learning about a specific coverage group before I join an BB in London. I haven't been assigned a group yet.
My reasoning was that, if I chose to learn about TMT for instance, that I could reach out to people on the TMT teams and network for a job there.
I have a question though, and any help is greatly appreciated:
Should knowledge of a sector/industry help in my attempt to get a seat on a specific team, especially when networking with an MD on the team lets OR am I pigeonholing.
Thanks,
bump
Aren't you provided training material? I would also brush up on my excel and ppt skills if I were you. I was expecting there to be a crash course when you join to teach you the processes and get you up to speed. You should network with them to learn more about your work.
