Enough BS/Advice

Alright. I've had enough.

Fellow chimps this is the sitrep:

  • Sophmore transferring to semi/non-target this fall (3.7 GPA, Finance Major)
  • Little/no high finance experience but a ton of soft skills. (Just a teller at a bank to pay for school at the moment, but I do have a weekend program at a Big 4 this summer for advisory)
  • No family in banking, but will be part of various clubs/foundations with connections to The Street.

My question is, how can I cut out the bs? I know I am way behind in the game, but I am using this summer to catch up and I am determined. My issue is what works and what doesn't? It seems that every instagram IB "Guru" who can "Guarantee and internship/fto" is selling a course in the mid 4 figure range, and that is something which I could barely afford. Which ones are actually worth the money? Are they even worth the money? I need dire help on my technicals and behaviorals and am willing to do what it takes to learn, but what courses/academies are actually going to take me where I need to go? Are there free ways to learn? Where can I go about getting a mentorship?

TL;DR:

I am tired of gurus selling 4 figure courses that prey on my situation (non target, low income, etc) but I am dying to learn more and break in. What is actually worth the money/time, builds my technical skills, and will get me closer to an internship?
