London long-only compensation
Hey everyone,
I wasn't sure whether to post this in the AM or HF forum but this forum seems more active.
Does anyone have any data points for LO comp in London for experienced analysts?
I'm currently working at a small fund in Australia. I've been in this role for 4 years (in my fifth now) and got the job straight out of uni after doing my masters. I haven't come from sell-side or a big asset manager with established training programmes so I am unsure where I fit in.
I'm a generalist analyst covering global equities (mainly US listed), have my own coverage, make proper recommendations to my PM etc so not in a solely support role.
Does anybody have info on comp in London for someone in my position? I've seen some data points but they're generally for someone after 2-4 years from an established sell-side firm which I've never been in.
Thanks.
Interested also. Much less transparency on this vs other areas of finance
Bump. Why can't I see this post in the forum too?
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this move is pretty hard sir
Too much competition in a declining-seat market. your profile is not strong enough to compete with nationals
Recommend going to LBS to be part of MBA-only recruiting windows
Going direct almost impossible
I understand the move won't be a walk in the park, but to be honest it does seem like a well trodden path moving from a commonwealth country to London.
Well not to long-only. But seems like not everyone here likes the truth
Hi sorry to hijack - How do you know if a seat is declining / increasing aside from personal observations. Is there a website or something, or just basic google research? Interested to learn more about other areas.
Following.
I'm also in the Aussie market potentially seeking an overseas move. I'm in a small L/S and been here almost since uni.
Can DM if you fancy a coffee old bean (Sydney??)
Unfortunately I'm not in Sydney sorry mate!
