TN Visa for ER

Currently going through the recruiting process for an EBB. Just got off a call with their legal team. Seems like they want to send me through on an Economist TN if we move forward. They suggested they'd want to send my application ahead of time, most people I know do it at the border. Anyone else recently get a TN? How exactly did you do it?

I'm on a Bachelors of Commerce with a specialization in Finance.

Received a few TN's but not within the last while. The legal team wants to send your application ahead of time because it allows the legal team to re-adjust and try again with minimal inconvenience. If you get rejected at the border, you have to schedule a new flight, get all new original documents drawn up, re-adjust start dates, etc. Most importantly from the legal team's perspective, there is a non-zero chance that you fuck up your own application by saying something incorrectly.

Basically, it's just easier for everyone involved if you mail it in.

Just had my trade dispute rejected by Schwab for a loss of 35k. This single issue alone should be a gigantic red flag to anyone who trades on their platform. If they have a system error, and you do not video record your trading (they actually said this), they will not honour their fuck up. Switching everything away from them. Fuck this company.

Also, getting grilled by Homeland isn't a fun or easy time. Happy to share more specific detail if needed via PM.

I’m a Canadian who received a TN visa for an equity research role recently. It was a really drawn out process that I’m pretty sure spooked my firm (BB) from taking on Canadians for the next little bit.

Depending on the category you are applying for and the education qualifications you have (BA in Economics vs. BCom / MBA) it might be an easier ride or uphill battle - either way, you would really need your analyst to vouch for you. I had another offer (MM) rescinded because the analyst didn’t want to push back against HR / legal team.
