China ER: UBSS GTP vs. CICC Research

Hi everyone,

I am a fresh graduate in Shanghai. I am lucky to receive offer from research junior position from CICC (base in BJ, my team will cover HK stocks and US-listed stocks) and UBSS(JV of UBS in China, base in Shanghai, covering A-share), and I am making a tough decision here.

Could someone throw any opinions at me? I am curious about exit ops, exposure, comp(CICC would be ~300k in terms of total pack pre-tax, UBSS GTP - no idea), hours....

Thanks in advance! =)

Oh btw, CICC might not grant me with HUKOU of Beijing( which is somehow like City ID that give you access to city's public services, allows you to purchase properties and allows your children to receive public education, China-specific problem). UBSS might be able to help with HUKOU of Shanghai.

Hi everyone!

Coming back after 4 yrs - I chose CICC at the end and it's my fourth year in CICC now. I never regret - although UBSS starts at better packs (~480k of base, bonus unknown, should be minimum), CICC definitely has better imfluence in Greater China area, esp. in China stocks (A+H+US).

Just coming back with some quick upates and hope this help new comers.

Thx all for the help!
