Bad News: MakerDAO Cofounder Passed Away

Stay Tuned with MEXC Global

Co-founding with MakerDAO, Nikolai Mushegian created the cryptocurrency lending marketplace. He was discovered deceased in Puerto Rico a week ago. One of the many influential figures in the bitcoin world is Mushegian. He also contributed to Bitshares and Balancers in addition to MakerDAO. A local story from El Nuevo Da claims that Mushegian perished on San Juan's Condado Beach after being carried by sea currents. For those who want to swim and surf, this beach is regarded as one of the most hazardous.

The loss of a shining figure in the cryptosphere is very tragic. Mushegian, who some refer to as a Dai architect, has worked on numerous business initiatives. The 29-year-old cryptocurrency developer is well-known for his work on the MakerDAO forks Rico and Rai as well as the proof-of-stake BitShares blockchain network. Mushegian is also a founder of the automated market maker Balancer. Rune Christensen, the creator and CEO of MakerDAO, tweeted on October 31 that Mushegian had made major contributions to Maker's development and had been instrumental in Ethereum's early stages.

Nikolai was one of the only people in the early days of Ethereum and smart contracts who was able to predict the possibility of smart contract hacks and invented the security-oriented approach to smart contract design we know today. Maker would have been toast without him.

Final Thoughts

Despite the fact that Mushigian was not a frequent user of social media. During COVID 19, he gave his alma institution Carnegie Mellon $1.3 million in cryptocurrency to support a research program for decentralized technology. The incident makes me sad, and I also wanted to emphasize that safety should always come first, no matter what you do or where you are.
