What's Happening at Carlyle Private Credit?
I recently saw a number of high profile departures from Carlyle's Private Credit team including Taylor Boswell and David Richman to AGL Credit Management, Ryan Yamakoshi to Centerbridge, and Jonathan Pearl to Lord Abbet & Co. Does anyone have any insight into why so many people are leaving Carlyle's credit team?
Happens every 2-3 years at Carlyle lol. Completely normal.
Based on the most helpful WSO content, it seems there have been some changes at Carlyle, but the specific details about the departures from Carlyle's Private Credit team aren't mentioned. It's not uncommon for professionals in the finance industry to move around, seeking new opportunities and challenges. However, without specific information, it's hard to pinpoint the exact reasons for these moves.
I'd recommend keeping an eye on the WSO forums for any updates or insider information that might come up. Also, you might want to reach out to your network to see if anyone has more insights. Remember, the finance world is small and constantly changing, so it's always good to stay informed!

Would like to note that Carlyle’ private credit platform is very sweaty. As such, departures at the junior level is very much expected. Understood that my comment does not apply to your topic but wanted to highlight as well.
They announced yesterday that their head of Direct Lending/BDCs has left the firm. Typical Monday at Carlyle Private Credit.
Are they recruiting?
I've heard the most miserable things about that group
Mid-level friend said that as well
What is causing all the departures - performance issues?
Across the board they have been plagued with succession issues and departures. They need to get their shit straight
We have a few seniors that came from that team. Said it became a total sweatshop and was worse than banking.
