Sophomore Summer Dilema
I'm a finance/math major at a target and this right now is the summer after my sophomore year. I have 3.6 GPA. I want to trade on a fixed income desk and I got hosed from all the big Wall Street internships this summer. Instead, I accepted an offer doing automotive research for a car company (it's a good paying job, but it's nothing to do with finance). I'm worried when I hear of other sophomores who got accepted to Wall Street firms their sophomore with very similar credentials to mine.
Will not having any finance work experience hurt my chances at a junior summer internship at a top bank?
i think you'll be fine.
as a sophomore, a better bet would have been to take summer courses. but what youre doing is fine
i'm actually taking 2 summer courses at night after i get out of work, but they are nothing related to my major. i'm just using them so i can take fewer classes my junior year.
If it does hurt your chances, are you going to turn to a finance internship?
