Pivoting from ER to Spec Sales

The Basics

I previously worked on the buy-side for 5 years as a generalist
Did my MBA at a target school in London
Pivoted to ER at a boutique shop (Bernstein, Redburn, Exane etc)

The Dilemma
I have been in my new role for 6 months and have an opportunity to move into a spec sales role at a BB covering a sector I previously covered at the hedge fund. Comp would be significantly better, but wondering if the move is worth it L/T. I have seen better exit opps for spec sales to the buy-side than traditional ER analysts given spec sales has a better pulse on the broader market and is more of a hybrid role than either pure research or sales.

Anyone done the move or working in spec sales that can lend some guidance? Happy to reciprocate with some buy-side help
