MSF's at trillium, fnys and others?

I'm looking to get into a somewhat smaller prop firm and I'm wondering what kind of academic background most of the entry level trading hires have at firms such as the following:

first new york
trillium
chimera
ronin
cheiron
geneva
eldorado
archelon
marquette
belvedere

I'm specifically interested in knowing if most of the entry level hires here are coming out of undergrad, MSF or MFE?

I went to UF, got 3.0 and currently work in a nonfinance field. If I can get into an MSF at a school like WUSTL, villanova, vandy, BC, or UIUC do I have a strong chance at getting into one of these prop shops? Is an MSF even the best route or does it make more sense to break in another way?

thanks very much everyone

To be honest man its prob a mix..each firm is different....For you to break in to this industry it is best that you get a MSF//MFE...and jugding from the list I would suggest going to UIUC for the prog and also its proximity to chicago prop shops you listed. Being an expert programming does help getting into these shops as well...

I'll save you the financial debt headache how you want to go the prop route. No need for an MSF. Save 10-15k, trade PROFITABLY for 2 straight years. If you can do lets say 2-3% return per month with no more than a 18% draw down from peak to valley for 24 straight months, your golden.

Please don't make me talk to you like an asshole...

Idk, but I can tell you that almost all of the firms on that list recruit at UIUC.

One that doesnt is Trillium, but I was still able to interview with them by applying online.

Funny, I'm at a target and Trillium is one of the few that DOES actively recruit here. Most of the Chicago firms don't even bother because it's a BB feeder so for someone like me trying to become a trader, it's proving difficult to break in. I had Super Saturday at one of the top MM firms in Chitown (think a touch under JSC) and there were a TON of UIUC kids there so that would be a great place to go to break into the business.
