WU Vienna vs Erasmus School of Economics
Hi from eastern europe, I got accepted to the English program (BBE) at WU and the IBEB (International Bachelor Economics and Business Economics) at ESE Rotterdam and I’m not sure which one to accept. I’m a C1 in german so I lean towards the WU in Vienna but I’m not sure which one is seen as the better program. Big dream would be MBB in DACH, London or Benelux after I complete my masters.
IBEB is generally seen as better for WU Vienna. Only reason for you to go to WU Vienna would be to perfect your german. You can always do your masters in gGermany should you want to do one in DACH region or an exchange :)
Thanks for the input 🙏 The thing that makes me wanna go to WU is the social/networking aspect of it as I already speak german. Additionally the housing situation is pretty difficult in Rotterdam. So I wonder how much of an advantage it would be to study IBEB if I wanted to break into DACH consulting, which is my primary goal.
You make no mention of fees, which unless you are rich should be a significant consideration as WU tuition (mere hundreds of euros) + accomodations (plenty of social housing). If that is not an issue I think you should consider what boib says.
IBEB bachelor is a mere 2 209 euros well depends if your country is in Europe but that is nothing compared to the UK or any other country so talking about fees with what are like the two cheapest unis in Europe is ridiculous. Good luck
Ah, so just as cheap as WU then - had no idea.
In Rotterdam there is somewhat of a housing crisis which is one of the aspects why I lean towards WU. But even if that’s not an issue I’m not sure if the trade off between letting go the ease of networking/day-to-day life that Vienna provides and pursuing a (slightly?, significantly? idk) better program is worth it.
You won't have the time to do day to day networking. You will have all the relevant companies coming to EUR (although won't lie that being fluent will help greatly in finding
