UCL vs Bocconi
Hello, I'm a new subscribed.
I graduated recently from a little university in the south of Italy and I want to work in a BB Investment Bank.
After some applications, I got admitted to Bocconi(MSc Finance, italian course) and UCL(MSc Management).
My final goal is M&A in London, which one it best in terms of opportunities? Both are great schools and besides its location, Bocconi places a lot of graduates in London anyway.
Can you help me to choose? Thanks
Bocconi
Bocconi for sure. In banking (even London) it has the same pull (if not more) than UCL and the course you'll be taking is much more relevant.
Even considering the pathway in finance of the Msc Management and its location at the center of Canary Wharf?
Yes, the campus location will be irrelevant. Also, the finance pathway will make your MSc in Management at most 30-40% finance. An entire MFin in better

Ok, thanks to anyone. Just another little thing. I'm already 25, with very scarce experience in finance(I'm working as assistant in a PE fund right now since 2 month ago, and i have a little internship in a local financial studio), and I am afraid that after 2 years in bocconi I will not be able to be competitive, because I will finish my studies almost at the age of 28. Do I have to worry about this(I mean, obviously I have to, but how much?) or will the Bocconi's name and its two internships help me to be able to thrive in this field anyway?
In contrast, UCL is a 1 year program and this would allow me to start earlier and gain experience.
I do not have any kind of gap in my work experience/school years: I work in my family business since the age of 10, and I worked through all my high school years. I started the undergrad 2 years later, finishing in 3 exact years with 110/110cum laudae(The best mark possible in Italy). I am currently working in my family business and with the fund.
What is your opinion about that? Thanks again for your help.
Given that you have so little work experience (banking related) it's better to have a 2 year programme! If you want to get into top banks the path is almost always through internship
