No, you can not transfer. The best you can do is an exchange in your 3rd semester to a sister school in another country or something like that. No transfers.
i was hoping to finish off CFA level 3 in my first semester of nyu while working. then switch over to columbia for a "more prestigious" degree.
Can't you just try to get into an executive MBA at Columbia or something?
First of all, NYU is fine. It's a notch down from Columbia, but you'll still get a good job. Have you already started? If so, I think you're stuck. If you can just wait, why not finish your CFA and then apply to CBS?
Most schools do not let you transfer in the middle of a MBA program (I know both Columbia and NYU do not). Also you mentioned that you are working, I believe Columbia only has a full time program, however I am not positive on that one.
Columbia does not have part time program except for their EMBA.

i go to a top 25 mba program (part time)... my current school doesn't allow us to transfer part time to full time..... i've been here a year ... and have done well in school.... would it be possible to transfer into a full time top 10 mba program? Can you even do this? if so, how feasible?
You would have to apply for the full time program and none of the current credits would transfer. You would also have to explain why you decided to stop part time and do full time in your essdays.
You want to do MBA yr 1 all over again? Wow, I'm suprised by that...
i'm a part time student... so i've only taken about 5 classes the whole year... so it wouldn't be doing a whole yr all over again... Also, if you can transfer from...lets say nyu part time mba to a columbia full time... wouldnt it be worth it?
nyu stern? imho i think that's good enough... but penn state to columbia? definitely.

When I was an undergrad, I transferred from an average state school to a public ivy.
I was just wondering if people do that in MBA programs. Could you, for example, start at Carnegie Mellon and transfer to Wharton?
almost positive, no.

As far as I know most MBA programs won't accept transfer credits. Where you go is where you're stuck.

No there is not a backdoor to the top MBA programs. I looked into this myself, but it would go against everything a program tries to build into your foundation in year 1.
Kellogg will give sometimes give you credit for courses they don't think you need to take. This winds up reducing your tuition and time spent in the program.
