I wouldn't call them target schools, but they do have some people on the street. I think Emory might have the most out of those three, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.
A lot of kids at Emory in the b-school come from New York and have parents/family members who work in finance. Not surprisingly a lot of them end up back in the city working in finance. Emory has a pretty good undergraduate recruitment program too.
WUSTL is considered a Semi-Target. It suffers because of location. I also don't think that many people coming from WUSTL actively pursue banking or trading. They are definitely more of a target for MM banks in Chicago and Houston though...
What is MM banks? May I ask?
Middle Market banks--so banks that are not the 9 Bulge Bracket banks--JPM. GS, MS, Barcap, CS, UBS, DB, Citi, BAML. In trading terms, they are smaller shops. In banking terms, they focus on smaller clients and deals.
What about UofMichigan Ross, UofVirginia McIntire, Georgetown McDonough, CMU Tepper and Northwestern? R they target school or not?
Thank you so much for answering! Thank you!
You should do a search on this site before asking about what schools are targets.
but Yes, Yes, semi-target, semi-target, yes--mostly for Chicago, but some NY placements.
Is University of Chicago a target school for wall street recruits? considering MBA program for career change.
