Question about georgetown undergrad
Hey, I'm a senior who's going to go to Georgetown next year (they gave me almost a full scholarship!)
Currently, I'm accepted to Mcdonough, because I am most interested in pursuing a career in PE. However, ive read on these forums that SFS kids also get really good recruitment. If I am interested in the curricula of both schools, do you guys think that in terms of recruitment, would it be advantageous if I could transfer into SFS? I know SFS is more prestigious in general, but is it to recruiters? Thanks.
Congrats on Georgetown, It's gonna be an awesome experience.
I would definitely stay with MSB. Though SFS is considered more prestigious, SFS students often have to justify why they weren't finance majors in interviews then have a steeper learning curve when they begin at banks. Though a number of SFS kids did get great jobs, many had a much tougher time in the job search process than many of their peers in the MSB. You can definitely get any job out of either school but I think that MSB will likely make the process a bit easier.
don't base your decision entirely on this though, at the end of the day you will be the one studying all of your classes so consider which curriculum you will find more interesting over the next 4 yrs.
MSB, SFS and College all get recruited pretty well, so it is more advantageous to do the one you enjoy most. If you want to change schools, you'll want to do it before you begin, because the cores are entirely different. It is possible to do, but essentially leaves you with few electives.
