PE/IBD opportunities out of UNC/Vanderbilt

My goal is to break into PE/IBD and my top choices are Vanderbilt and UNC. Anyone have any insights as to which school might be a better choice in the long run?

I know recruiting out of school into PE is not an option unless I go to H/S/W, but thats not an option unfortunately. So, I'd have to make do with what I've got. Basically, I want to know which of these schools offers the most prospects and the least thorniest path.

Also, any insights on the number of PE/VC/IB firms located in the RDU area?
