Part time MBA vs full time MBA

  • Networked my way into a bespoke credit fund in NYC after 2 years of buy side work experience post undergrad (securitized credit; ABS)

  • After 2 years of strong performance here, employees are willing to hear me out on MBA sponsorship

  • I am getting structuring, deal execution, and leadership experience at my current workplace

  • Comp: 200K USD++

  • Non target school from Asia
    GPA was not impressive
    Internships/Projects were impressive

  • More than anything, I am looking to get an MBA from a reputable school to “erase” away references to my bachelors. Hopefully this leads to better long term career opportunities.

  • I am also interested in entrepreneurship after but willing to be patient about it if company is sponsoring

  • My thinking is that a part time MBA from a highly reputable school (easier to get in than FT?) would be the best choice for me.

  • is my thinking/approach wrong in any way? Should I be adamant on FT MBA (even if it’s from a less reputable school)?
