No Undergrad but business owner can I do an MBA?

I'm 18 dont have an undergrad because I decided to do a gap year

Started a business during the gap year doing fairly well right now completely put me off doing an undergrad but still want to go University in my 20s

I got told schools like Harvard can make exceptions if you ran a successful business, but how big does it need to be to be classified as successful?

Well, my friend, you're asking a great question! Based on the most helpful WSO content, getting into a top-tier MBA program like Harvard or Stanford without an undergraduate degree is quite rare, but not impossible.

The definition of a "successful" business can vary, but it's not just about size. It's about the impact you've made, the growth you've achieved, and the leadership skills you've demonstrated.

For instance, if you've started a business that's doing well, that's fantastic! But the admissions committees will want to see more than just that. They'll want to see how you've grown the business, how you've overcome challenges, and how you've led your team. They'll also want to understand why you believe an MBA is the right next step for you, and how it will help you achieve your long-term goals.

Remember, these programs are looking for leaders who will make a significant impact in the world. So, if you can demonstrate that through your entrepreneurial experience, you could have a shot. But, it's important to note that the academic component is also crucial. You'll need to be able to handle the rigorous coursework, so you may need to provide other evidence of your academic abilities.

In the end, every case is unique. If you're considering this path, I'd recommend reaching out to the admissions offices at the schools you're interested in. They can provide guidance on your specific situation. Good luck, and keep swinging from those trees!

You go to every admissions office of schools you are interested in and ask. For example Nicholas Latifi, F1 Racer, is at LBS MBA right now. He has no undergrad.
You need a GRE/GMAT score though

Keep in mind Harvard,Stanford,Wharton (HSW) is very unpredictable for the top candidates from even Ivy league schools, working at big firms...so you gotta be a unicorn to have a chance.
