Master's in Management: LSE (MiM) v UCL (MiM) v Imperial (MiM)
Hi everyone,
Having graduated LSE (First Class Honours), I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on which Master's in Management (MiM) I should choose before I make a final decision. I am aware that LSE has a better reputation for business-related subjects, however, they have only just launched their MiM (1-year programme). Imperial has a higher QS ranking for MiM, and UCL seems to produce more competitive students in the job market.
My choices would be:
UCL Masters in Management (1-year)
LSE Masters in Management (1-year)
Imperial Masters in Management (1-year)
Here are some of my details:
- Non-EU citizen, hoping to work in the consultancy or financial sector in London (preferably MBB but not a necessity, pretty much open to options). Didn't try hard enough to get a job upon undergrad graduation (which I regret), so I would prefer a degree that will maximise my chance of landing a decent job in London.
- No major internship experiences in London/UK (only in my home country), but have decent extra-curricular activities (President of a society, Captain of Uni sports team, start-up experience etc...).
- Most 1-year MiM programmes seem to have a very academic structure, focusing on theories; my preference would be a more practical programme where I would gain transferable skills
Overall, I'm not sure how much of a value a one-year MiM in reputable London university would add to my CV, and would like honest opinions from students who have attended the programmes and graduates in the job market who knows what consulting firms prefer.
For me LSE>Imperial>UCL Not sure having a different school in your resume and having another Alumni network is that important. LBS is more practical no ? UCL is much better for undergrad studies.
