Cornell vs Goizueta for IB and Consulting
Which school places better in consulting and investment banking Cornell CAS or Emory Goizueta? I know Emory has significantly improved its placement with BBs and MBB and has already placed very well with EBs and MMs as well as Big 4 and T2. So I was wondering how it stacks up to one of the lower Ivy leagues like Cornell and if there is even a comparison or if Cornell is still super far ahead.
Unless you get a scholarship or think you’ll be miserable in Ithaca, you should probably go with the ivy
"the Ivy" lmfao the most pretentious nickname ever, just say Cornell
though I will give you credit - this is the right answer. Thriving at a "lesser" prestigious school >>>> falling through the cracks at an Ivy. Plus clubs are less competitive at Emory probably, so easier to get your resume on track with less effort. It does come down to the cost as well- if Emory gives me $10k more per year in scholarships (or is that much cheaper), then I'd probably take them over paying near full price for Cornell.
Shut up intern
I go to Emory and have friends at Cornell. Both schools have incredibly competitive clubs and organizations so I would disregard that completely. Both schools are expensive and give the same amount of aid. Lastly, both schools have very similar looks in regards to recruiting overall (with some banks having favorites between the two but overall same placement per capita). Cornell does have the advantage with name brand awareness but for IB both schools are well known.
Just go to the school that you would like more socially and would be happier at. If you can’t break in at Cornell you won’t be able to at Emory and vice versa. All comes down to you and how well you do recruiting
