CFA GRANTS EASIER ACCESS TO STUDY A MASTER AT A EUROPEAN TARGET UNI
I just wanted to know if the CFA would be helpful to grant me a place in a european uni to study a master (besides the good grades and recommendation letters from teachers) if so I would like to know if the chances are high low or simply indifferent
Thanks
Based on the most helpful WSO content, having all three levels of the CFA can indeed make someone more attractive for an MBA program, and by extension, it could be inferred that it might also enhance your application for a Master's program at a European university. The CFA is recognized globally and demonstrates a strong commitment to finance as well as a deep understanding of financial analysis, investment management, and ethical standards.
However, it's important to note that while the CFA can add value to your profile, admissions decisions for Master's programs, especially at target universities in Europe, are based on a holistic review of your application. This includes your academic record, professional experience, recommendation letters, personal statement, and potentially, your performance in an interview.
The impact of the CFA on your chances can be considered positive, but it's not the sole determinant. It's more likely to be one of several factors that can strengthen your application. If you're aiming for a finance-related Master's program, the CFA could be particularly relevant and viewed favorably, but it's also crucial to excel in other aspects of your application.
In summary, having the CFA can improve your application and might increase your chances, but it's essential to maintain a strong overall profile. The effect could be considered more than indifferent, but how high depends on the specific program and how they weigh the CFA in their admissions process.

I dont think any certifications play a big role in the admission process. But some universities have GMAT waiver if certain levels of CFA are completed, such as LBS, IE, EDHEC. I´ve personally completed CFA L2 and went for IE.
I'm from spain and I didn't even know that the IE required CFA as a great complement, my first options are the Bocconi Uni or the St Gallen and it would be great to know if they consider it as a plus
It does not require it. It requires GMAT which can be waived with CFA.
I got accepted to IE with a CFA level 2 pass, and a 3.1 GPA in the US. Also had 1.5 YOE in FP&A. It felt too easy, but apparently they value the CFA.
Gmat waived bc the CFA exams
Damn bro, that's a lot of experience i'm still an undergraduate so I don't what's better for a target master if the cfa or just a great performance in the GMAT?
Keep in mind that if you fail the CFA level I exam, you get nothing and have to wait 3-6 months to retake. Taking the GMAT will at least give a you a score, and if you score poorly, you can retake every 17 days.
