resume/job search advise
Hello WSO friends,
just adding some color to my background.
I recently got laid off and now looking for advise on how to approach this job market (and in particular the city I'm in. I'd prefer to stay. It's a major city, but not known for the finance industry). I've only been applying for a couple weeks now, but I'm getting less interest from recruiters than I thought. I went to the major university in the state, and have 2 BB brands on my resume (Private banking remote underwriting, and remote/hybrid investment management accounting). The first job I got out of university was a contract role that expired, and the other I was... lets say laid off (please see other post on the topic). It's kinda cringy to say, but there is a 9 month break between graduation and my first job, 6 month break between my first and second job, and now I'm not working, looking for a third job. I'm definitely not liking the gaps on my resume now, but it is what it is.
Sorry if the information is a bit messy - just wanted to get it out and not mince words or ramble. Any advice on the resume or on the job research is welcomed.
Do you guys recommend tailoring a resume for each type of role or a general job function is fine coming from a BB?
