Frat Guys in IB??

Current undergrad looking to break into IB. Wondering to what extent I should portray my current affiliation with an undergraduate fraternity (CV, networking, LinkedIn). We are by no means a business fraternity.

If in a prominent leadership position within the organization, is this something that can be perceived as an accomplishment or looked down upon by bankers?

Genuinely would consider this to be a positive if in a real leadership position, but would let your interviewer bring it up in discussion. Odds are if they are familiar with it, they will have a positive opinion of it.

To give you a thoughtful answer: 100% yes. In my experience working in the middle markets and spending a short time in NY, most guys around the office eat that shit up. I highly recommend you expose it to be your entire identity. In every network endeavor, make sure that you mention your "frat guy" experiences and you will almost always be instantly considered for an interview. Although I was never in this position, one of my close colleagues was. Absolute brick that made his way to the BBs.
