Why CMBS origination? Why Debt? Question

Hi everyone,

I have a final round interview with CEO and MDs at a boutique conduit firm tomorrow. I think I have everything locked down, but since I didn't have any previous experience in the debt site of the world (work in investment sales), I'm having hard time coming up with answers for why cmbs origination? why debt? questions.

I was going to say i would like to think on lender's perspective rather than landlords perspective and go from there... but I would appreciate it if anyone of you could chime in...

Thank you in advance!

The answer you should go with is "at bats". You'll see a ton of deals across different product types in all parts of the country - way more then you would on the equity side just not as in depth.

Also huge opportunity in the debt space. There's $350bn of maturing re debt coming due each yr between now and the end of 2017 due to the massive runup from 05 to 07
