REPE - Asset management team role
Hello everyone,
I am currently through an interview process for a reputable real estate private equity. The opportunity pertains to their "asset management team," which operates independently from their acquisitions team. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone here with experience in a similar role could share their insights.
Historically, my expertise leans more towards finance. However, the asset management role seems to offer an interesting combination of finance and architecture. I understand that this position might involve collaborating with consultants on certain architectural elements of building projects. I am particularly drawn to the prospect of site visits and a hands-on approach to property management, as I believe this could enhance my skill set and offer valuable transferable skills for future opportunities in the real estate market.
However, I am also cautious about potential challenges due to the shift from my usual financial-focused background.
I would be grateful for any advice or perspectives you could provide (if possible also about compensation, work-life balance, exit opps and if the work is engaging).
Thank you in advance for your help.
