Making a Move to NYC for CRE

Monkeys,

I am in a weird spot. Work is going quiet well, but I do not feel challenged and content. I am a person that is by nature obsessive about work, and I want to move to NYC where I hope to be around other like-minded people. I have a few connections from my analyst class but no senior level connections or inked deals in hand. What do you recommend I do to make the move from a small city?

Hey man so I ended up keeping my head down at the firm for the last year, going into a networking mode of sorts. My current evergreen fund/employer is being acquired and gave me a natural opportunity point to exit while maintaining rapport. In conversation with a few firms (tho none in NYC), feeling very positive, and expect to transition at the end of the quarter.

Would recommend others to make their move promptly when they know it’s time. I was being led on a bit by my management team, which really wasn’t a good feeling, and if it wasn’t for them proverbially dangling a carrot, I would’ve left much sooner.
