M3 Capital Partners - updated thoughts

Hi monkeys,

Does anyone have any updated views on M3 Capital Partners after the acquisition by GLP and the Evergreen spin-off? Know they used to be quite good but curious about how the experience is now and how feasible it is to lateral/exit to a large-cap REPE fund c.2y down the line.

Would appreciate any intel - thanks!

That's my most important consideration. Seems like they do a ton of fundraising and fund structuring advisory and not much RE deal advisory - would this hamper exits, as my ultimate goal is Tier 1 REPE? I suppose I could move to REIB then get into REPE from there but not sure how feasible it is in this kind of market

Haven’t gone into their advisory work thoroughly but if they are doing a lot placement agent type work and advising on fundraisings would probably steer clear or use them as leverage for the next role if aren’t able to land something closer to REPE.

Your shots would be better in a BB or EB IB role but beggars can’t be choosers. Don’t get me wrong even if you mainly did fundraising decks but got some deal experience that will still give you a shot into the market on the entry level principal side.
