Energy Project Finance -> REPE

Hi,

I am currently a second-year analyst at a large European bank in their energy project finance group. I want to make a switch towards to real estate private equity as I enjoy the tangible nature of the deals I am working on but enjoy looking at projects more as an investment as opposed to an advisor or lender. Real estate, as opposed to infrastructure private equity, seems to me to be a further developed sub-sector of finance where the amount of REPE funds dwarfs the amount of infrastructure PE funds limiting the opportunity and pigeonholing those who cannot exit at the correct time. Although energy project finance and real estate private equity are very different, I'm under the impression that many of the modelling and deal making skills that I have developed over the past year are transferrable. I have started doing some research on different types of roles and sending cold emails to network with some REPE associates and VPs to no avail.

Does anyone have experience, or know of someone, making a similar transition? Any suggestions on how I could best leverage my experience / which funds I should be targeting my efforts towards? Are there any resources that are "must-read" for me? Any other general suggestions for me?

Thank you all for the help.
