REPE exit to Corporate PE

I joined a real estate value add fund straight out of uni after 3 internships in IB (tier 2) & consulting (MBB). The fund is big for VA standards, comparable KKR & others. The firm is a global fund manager (tier 1), so it's not branded as RE specific.
I'm enjoying it because the team is small and good, I have loads of visibility and learning a lot. However, I'm not sure RE is for me. Corporate PE is in the back of my mind, and planning to seriously condider options in 2 years.

What do you think? I spoke with headhunters before joining, and told me its viable. Clearly though, my profile would be quite niche. I had a return offer to the consulting (MBB), in its PE consulting team, which would have made me exit in corp pe, but would have taken 3-5 years and my line of thought was that experience in a value add as a principal is greater than that of a monkey in a consulting.

I would consider megas / large midcaps only, as it comes down to fund size. The fund i'm is quite bit and comparable to mega / large midcaps, so I wouldn't step down to a small midcap just because of corporate.
Curious to know what you guys think.
