London - How easy it is to transition from top rating agency (S&P -Moodys - Fitch) to PE

Hi fellow monkeys,

I was wondering how easy it was to move from a role in structured finance (ABS) to PE after a few years working in a big three rating agency (S&P -Moodys - Fitch).

Many thanks in advance for your responses !!

Will reiterate what I’ve seen from similar threads. Seems pretty difficult to move from there to MF/UMM buyout, the banking/consulting pipeline to these firms is too strong and there’s just not that many seats. However, exits can be strong into private credit arms of pe firms or even distressed debt hedge funds. Being at the top brands also definitely helps over a no-name shop. Hope that helps!
