Infra firms in Amsterdam?
For all the euro-slinging monkeys on the continent, does anyone know what the infrastructure PE + project finance lending scene is like in Amsterdam? I would imagine ING has a large team for that there. That being said, does anyone know of other firms in the infra space in Amsterdam? Here's what I know off the top of my head:
- ING
- DIF Capital Partners (one of the larger PE firms I think)
- APG (investment management team for a Dutch pension fund)
Also, does anyone know what the culture/lifestyle/comp is at these and similar firms, and whether they hire non-Dutch staff (but other English-speaking Europeans)?
Any insight would be appreciated.
Bump, euro monkeys don’t fail me
Waterland have done some infra-like deals
Like which? Elderly care homes? REally more business orriented LBOs than Infra imo.
EQT made such an investment from their Infra fund. Reason why the valuations can get crazy on these is because you have infra PE funds with lower IRR driving valuations up vs traditional funds
Energy from Waste - not sure how they modelled them
Thesis was based on increasing import of waste to the Netherlands (which worked out well). In addition they acquired it with a provision for closing some landfills which they could reverse as they relabelled it 'inventory' instead to my understanding (big fuck up of sell side advisors). The got it cheap (not at a infra valuation) and made a fortune out of it.
Haven't worked with any, but most pension funds and insurance companies have a team I believe (e.g. ABP, Achmea, Aegon, Delta Lloyd, Interpolis Pensioenen, Grontmij, Rupa, SNS Reaal). IT infra: https://penta-infra.com/
Thanks. Do you know if any of them hire non-Dutch speakers?
