How Competitive is MM or LMM PE From a Mid BB Group

For the Mid Groups at the Mid BBs where not many people make the exits to PE, is recruiting into a respectable MM fund attainable? What about LMM?

Is the same true if I went to a nontarget?

How would recruiting change? Would I have to be more proactive and rely less on HHs?

Bad question. It's always competitive. But yes, both are easily possible coming from a BB. For MM school matters less, for LMM I'd argue it doesn't matter at all so long as you did ok and if you got into a BB you'll be fine. HH don't do much in LMM so you're better off being proactive with most firms, MM if you've got HHs working with you you'll be fine. Being proactive in general can only help your chances, especially in this market.
