Good point. I hope they did not spy on Russia. Putin is not a person to be messed with.
I almost feel like the US and Russia still get to spy on each other indefinitely as a remnant of the cold war. Old habits die hard.. plus it's not like either side would be surprised by it. But I agree, Putin is a badass.
This to all my hatin' folks seeing me getting guac right now..
I really want to know the volume of spying done by other countries on the US. I am almost positive it goes both ways and, as in all political things, these countries are being political opportunists.

political, yes. Trade, probably not. remember, we're still the worldwide currency. Everyone loves the Benjamins. But in the end, once we lose that status, which could happen soon. Then the US is completely boned.
The US isn't screwed if we loose reserve status. The question is what will they go to? The Euro? it is easily disrupted by upset Europeans that are mad they have to work 30 hours a week. Will they go with an Asian currency? Nothing there that is stable enough to support a world trade currency. So there isn't really any other choice.

Too complicated. It might be do able, but think about it. 90% of the world is made up of functioning idiots. What will they think when you can't explain why their gas price fails about in a totally random pattern day to day with out resorting to a dictionary and economics textbooks.

Damage on a political level will hover around for awhile, but trade-wise, the benjamins indeed do the talking...
