Where to go for September & October?

Canadian here, given the ok to work remotely until the end of the year.

Hoping to get out of CAD for September and October, any suggestions for where?

I was thinking somewhere on the beach in Mexico or the Dominican Republic, as neither have travel restrictions....

Thoughts? Ideas?

Never heard of Sayulita, why there in particular?

Sayulita is a little surf village just north of Puerto Vallarta (the airport you fly into). It is a cute little town that is not really overrun with tourists, but recently have had more tourists come into the area as it is being 'discovered'. Its a beautiful place to spend some time and there are a few good restaurants around. Everything is in walking distance and the waves are consistently good. Weather is pretty nice most of the year. Its a beautiful little tropical town.

My sister used to live there for 2 years and I visited a couple of times to surf and hangout - always good times.

Or -

  • Valencia, Spain
  • Barcelona, Spain
  • Alicante, Spain
  • Cinque Terre, Italy
  • Rome, Italy
  • Some Island in Greece
  • Super cheap Thailand
  • Australia
  • Basque Coast (Spain/France) (Bilbao, Mudaka, Hossegor, Biarritz)
  • Bali, Indonesia (cheap)
  • SoCal (US)
  • Argentina (great steaks and wine - great people)

- SoCal (US)

Probably best to avoid that one for now. Not sure what current Canadian policy is for visiting the US.

In general though, it's a great choice.

Big time.

Good call on Spain!

Italy & Greece would be excellent, but ideally I'd like to avoid the 2 week quarantine

Thailand who knows if the August 31 travel ban will be extended.

Australia not currently accepting people, same with Indonesia & Argentina...

I’m a proponent of Punta Cana — great golf, delicious food, and amazing boat excursions with snorkeling/seafood/rum in coconuts all at a reasonable price.

I had a good experience staying in the Bavaro neighborhood and usually advocate against doing an all-inclusive to get a more local experience. That said, the commercial resorts are likely a safer bet re: sanitization standards + the rates are crazy low these days.

I've been to the Canary Islands - pretty chill place.

What does this mean?

It means he gets paid in USD, but lives in the Ukraine.

Anywhere on the Croatian coast would be cool, and I would love to go there some day. There are nice cities like Dubrovnik and Split, access to beautiful parks, and lots of nice beaches. Apparently the food, drinks, and people are good as well. Plus there is a lower cost of living so your money should go a long way there.

I’m a fun guy. Obviously I love the game of basketball. I mean there’s more questions you have to ask me in order for me to tell you about myself. I'm not just gonna give you a whole spill... I mean, I don't even know where you're sitting at

Montenegro is also another good choice that's way cheaper than Croatia. Bosnia & Herzegovina too if you want some nice inland cities. Croatia is getting a lot of tourists so prices have increased every year.
