Post-Superday Assessment
Had a final round interview last week for a FT position at a MM bank. Not really sure how it went and am looking for some insights.
First round went well, the last guy that came in said he wasn't going to ask any technical questions because he knew that I knew my shit.
superday was entirely fit. Didn't get a single technical (is that weird?) and just shot the shit for half an hour with each of the MDs while weaving in my story.
Got an email back from one the other day saying it was a competitive group and I acted very professional and that he looks forward to working with me, but he also indicated in the interview that he wasn't the one making the decision.
Is not being asked any technical questions a bad thing or do you think these guys had already spoken with the associates I interviewed with in the first round? Two of the MDs were the bosses of two associates I interviewed with, so I assume they may have spoken before.
no, if anything its a good thing they didn't ask you technicals. If you know your shit and they sensed that from your resume then they aren't worried about your capabilities.
Cool, thanks guys. I just wasn't sure. I mean my conversation with one of the SMDs revolved primarily around the NBA/NHL playoffs, how people who watch The Jersey Shore and Real Housewives are hurting America, and bashing Meredith Witney. So....
^It can be easily said that watching the NBA and NHL are hurting America. Anyhow, you can't really tell how do did amongst your competitor, until you get the offer. I wouldn't worry about it. Let the chips fall where they may.
