Networking at a Company
Hey all,
So I've been networking with alumni/friends from home for the last few weeks. And recently, I was considering networking through my company (GE) to try to get in touch with the in house M&A guys ( I would think they definitely know people in banking). As a junior, I am mainly looking for a solid internship for next summer.
My question is, as someone looking for a SA position, would it be appropriate to be networking within my company? I'm in a one-year finance internship, and my bosses really like me. The downside is they are under the impression that I would probably stay for another year and so on. I don't want to burn my bridges with them, as they are key references for my resume, but I know I would like to branch out and experience a different side of finance.
My other question, is how do I find out who is in the M&A/corporate dev division? I can access any employee, but I have no idea what division this would fall under (aside from corporate, which has like a billion people).
Thanks
