Internship Canary Wharf/City vs Wall Street

As a European, with a European degree from a good school (but not LSE/LBS) what are the chances to get an internship on Wall Street? Is it more competitive in New York than London?

Also, is it difficult with working permits? I have applied to a few number of banks in New York but when you fill in you application you must submit whether you are eligible to work there or not.. it feels like you get filtered away just because of that or am I wrong? Do they help you with visas and working permits?

It is not easy unless you have a good connection. I don´t think it is worth the hassle. Apply for London. Also, you will have an edge with Swedish clients ;)

For Europeans it is more difficult to break into of course. You don't have the Visa etc. and candidates from US schools are preferred. Also, since you said you are not at one of the more well known schools like LSE / LBS / Oxbridge, it will be even harder.

Same for Americans though. It is harder for an American to get a job in London. Just common sense you know. You can't say which is generally harder to break into b/c it depends on your Visa / work permit status, your country of study, your uni, etc.
