Commerical banking MA: where can I exit & how should I prepare?
Hi,
I am graduating for a master program in finance at Singapore and the best job offer so far is a management associate role at a Chinese commercial bank (in China). The program is structured that I won't stick to any specific team during the first two years and will be in charge of mostly retail duties.
My primary objective is to move back to Singapore (or any country other than CN if possible) within the next few years with a job that can fully support the expenses there.
Currently thinking of 2 options:
Plan A. After the 2 years of rotation, hopefully I can get a place at the global markets (easiest to exit IMO) team and work for a few years from that, to see if there's any good exit.
Plan B. 2 years of rotation to save up some money and apply for a second master's program/PhD at a different country and start everything over from there.
I would seek some advice on: 1) Is there any other option? 2) If plan A, what are the possible exits and what should I focus to prepare in the first 2 years? 3) If plan B, which country in terms of job opportunities and visa sponsorship for foreigners.
Thanks very much.
